Accommodation
The cottages
were developed from an 18th century byre and granary using
Charles’s skills as an engineer and Dee’s creative background in fashion
and textile design. Their work sympathetically retains many original
features and the historic feel of the place combined with very
comfortable and high spec modern building design.
All three
cottages form part of one traditional Northumbrian sandstone building,
with a paved patio area outside including original feed troughs
overflowing with cottage flowers. Each cottage has its own front door
leading into its open plan ground floor space. The parking area is
immediately beside the cottages.
These
are very comfortable and cosy houses that work equally well individually
or taken together to accommodate larger groups. They comprise -
East Cottage.
