Southlands Stables
After lots of hard work our new stables are finished. Not only does it mean Toggi and Pebbles our Pony’s have five star accommodation but also if you have ever dreamed of bringing your horse on holiday with you it is now possible! We are a small working Farm that can offer B and B for your horse. Complete with Tack room we can accommodate up to four horses. There are lovely bridle paths all around us, we are in the heart of the Tynedale hunt country , so hunting breaks are posible in the winter. There is a very good indoor arena near the village of Wark on Tyne called Parkend Equestrian Centre only a few miles away, where you can have lessons at all levels and they hold very good equestrian events. Charles, Rosie and I were lucky enough to meet Mike Branch the American horse whisperer. It was fascinating, he even came here to the farm to do a workshop with Rosie and her pony Toggi it was amazing.
At Riding Mill we have High Plains Equestrian Centre which has a lovely woodland ride and cross country course. There are many other places to visit with your horse not to mention the fantastic Northumbrian coastline and if you are interested we can help you plan you and your horses stay. We do ask that all horses have up to date passports and have been vaccinated and wormed and owners take out their own insurance whilst on holiday. Feeds can all be supplied on request. Please contact Charles or I for further information. I do think Northumberland has some of the most beautiful countryside and what better way so see it than on horseback!
