Keeping up appearances

Charles' Rants

3rd May 2013

We have been giving the cottages a “spring spruce up”, and we weren’t happy with the ceiling lights. There were chips around the light holes in the plasterboard and it was impossible to change a bulb without things getting worse.

I thought there must be a solution, but could find nothing on the internet, and the suppliers of the lights were no help either.  So after a little lateral thought I managed to find some spring steel shim washers from Caleb Components who supplied just what was ordered, all I had to do was file some notches and spray them with a clear coat.

East Cottage and West Cottage now look just as smart as they ever did, and we haven’t had to re-plaster or buy new fittings, just a lick of paint. Middle Cottage will be tackled next week.
