We are very honoured to be the first guests in this cottage. The McGowan's have been wonderful hosts, thinking of all the details to make their guests stay more pleasant, we had a fine dinner at the local pub. Wish we could stay longer.

We enjoyed the woodburner and the spiral staircase, the quiet and the stars.Recommendations from Charles and Dee were very helpful and much appreciated.
The road to Rothbury ands the beach at Alnmouth were great, as were the grounds and playgrounds at Cragside and Walllington. Good scones and farm-shop bacon, also, respectively.

I’ve never been first at anything before! So it was very pleasing to hear, when we phoned to book, that we would be the first ever guests to inhabit Southlands Farm Middle Cottage. I’m very pleased to say it has been a very successful and enjoyable Maiden Voyage, and we would like to wish Dee, Charles, family & dogs all the best on this new venture and I am sure all future guests will enjoy their stay as much as we did.

We enjoyed our time here very much. Although I spent most of my time working. We’ve been treated very friendly by Dee and Charles.We are looking forward to return to here next year with daughter and granddaughter for a real holiday………hopefully with a little more sunshine.

Dear Charles and Dee, what a pretty cottage we had. And what a nice job you did to decorate it so nicely. Great kitchen and bathroom too.We enjoyed our stay here very much. Gunnerton is a very nice place in the centre where you can do good trips to interesting places. We visit Hexham, Hadrian’s Wall and the Farne Islands, and the beautiful Castle and gardens of Alnwick. There was a lot things we were not able to do yet, maybe another time? Thank you so much!

This is the ideal rural retreat. The cottage was warm and cosy with lashings of hot water for when we returned from our long country walks. The local pub served great food and the location was great, Corbridge has a great dress shop too!  We had a fantastic holiday. Thank you

Middle Cottage is ideal for a 'singles' holiday. Fabulous accommodation and facilities, wonderful countryside, great local bar food, northern hospitality at it's best. Will definitely return. From an exiled 'geordie' !!
