" We have all had a MARVELOUS time, an hours drive away, but a 'world' away. The cottage is superb, containing everything we could possibly need. The farm, the gardens, the animals, all a wonderful experience. The peace and quiet, the unexpected lovely weather all added to our joy. "Charles and Dee are excellent and caring hosts. The cottage is delightful with much attention to detail. We all especially like the boiler room for wet boots and walking gear. Charles took us to visit the farm animals and there were so many meters of hedges being planted during our visit. We cycled locally and round Kielder Water and walked Hadrians Wall and the beach at Embleton Bay plus down to Barrasford for the Sunday papers. It is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed. It will get our recommendation!  "

"We’ve had a very special stay in this very special place- Dee and Charles were so warm and welcoming and generous with their hospitality, time and delicious vegetables! Our holidays been marvellous, introducing our baby to sea water, sand and local delicacies mainly from the butcher, baker and sausage roll maker at Bamburgh!  As well as showing him the pigs, cows chicks , horse and cars! Wallington, Chester’s Fort and walled Garden. Alnwick (Barter Books), Hexham, Corbridge, Warkworth…..all wonderful places to visit from this lovely cottage. Thank you."

"Our second visit and it was just as lovely as we remember it- this time bringing along extra family who enjoyed it as we'd hoped. Thank you for a wonderful time - and the 'spur of the moment' extra night - much appreciated! The meat eaters loves the sausages from your farm shop. A must try! We've also had a brilliant time visiting Kielder Observatory, Cragside, Vindolanda Roman Fort and the beaches at Bamburgh - prefect! We'd recommend the great little cinema in Hexham, a night stargazing in Kielder or dinner out at the Barrasford Arms or Bouchon Bistro in Hexham for a brilliant evening! We've done much more too so thank you so much for out stay in the two adjoining cottages - it worked perfectly for us and we all loved the decor and finishing touches! We will be back soon..."
